    Reconstruction of the destroyed temple of Baalshamin in Palmyra is expected to begin this month, in a joint effort by Syrian authorities and UNESCO. This was revealed in August by the director of antiquities in Homs, Hussam Hamish.

  2. A new project was announced last week. Jasmine Village, located in Wadi Barada, Damascus countryside, will become a charming village with beautiful villas on the mountains of Damascus. Infrastructure works are now ongoing.

  3. The Homs-Masyaf railway will be more than 50 kilometers long, several times longer than the Homs-Hassia railway project I previously reported on.

  4. The Syrian Ministry of Transport’s next project is building a railway between the city of Homs and Masyaf, with the help of 240 workers and 110 vehicles. The project is part of a larger expansion of the Syrian railway, and eases & accelerates transportation for many Syrians.

  6. Damascus governorate announced yesterday that 38 alternative housing towers will be built in about five months for the original inhabitants of the area Marota City is being constructed. The area consisted previously of illegal and informal settlements.

  9. To those of you unaware of Marota City, it is Syria’s biggest construction site by Cham Holding & serves as a model for upcoming post-war reconstruction, set to become a new commercial hub in 🇸🇾. It was first announced in 2012, and the first building permits were given this year.

  15. A project with the value of 192 million SYP recently began a few weeks ago in Aleppo to restore the infrastructure in the old city’s neighbourhoods, by asphalting the roads and fixing the sidewalks. The project has already reached more than 50% of its completion.

  16. The Chamber works to improve the agricultural environment for farmers, cattle breeders & livestock together with the directorate of agriculture. It shall be noted it provides support & projects to farmers for free, or by installments (Cows, tractors, drip irrigation networks).

  20. Quneitra electricity company’s workshops have returned electricity to over 80 towns and villages in the province.

  21. Furthermore, a major project worth 110 million SYP is currently conducted & new water sanitation lines are being installed in the neighbourhoods of Joura, Thawra, Al-Hamidiyeh, Al-Jabilah, Jehha Al-Sharqiyeh & other neighbourhoods. In some NBHDs like Al-Baajin, work has finished.

  22. Deir Ezzor City is currently seeing significant infrastructure works as many (if not most) of its roads and streets are getting asphalted and rehabilitated. Deir Ezzor hasn’t seen much rehabilitation since it was liberated from ISIS, but that now seems to be changing.

  29. Safir Hotel was Maaloula’s best hotel, but was occupied by Al-Nusra as a HQ which they used to fire in the direction of the village below. The proposal is to rebuild it to a 4-star hotel with 3 restaurants, a swimming pool, green areas, and other joyful activities. Size: 11500 m2

  31. Carlton Hotel of Aleppo. What used to be a marvellous hotel with a gorgeous view of the citadel is now nothing but a pile of ruins. The hotel was also destroyed in a tunnel explosion conducted by rebels. The proposal is to rebuild a new 5-star hotel in the area. Size: 7231 m2

  33. On October 31, the Ministry of Tourism arranged the Syrian Investment Forum, in which it proposed over 40 projects for investment. Over 100 participated in it from various Arab countries, particularly UAE. I’ll in this thread post some of the most significant proposed projects.

  34. The Minister of Transport visited the construction site for the railway between Homs and the industrial city of Hassia today. Once in service, trains will be able to transport 2000 tons on a daily basis which contributes to reduce prices for building materials.

  36. Two months ago, Damascus Gateway LTD launched the project ”Damascene Gate” to build a collection of residential buildings in the town of Al-Hameh, Damascus countryside. They are built after an Italian style, while the facades are Mexican-inspired. Construction is ongoing.
