    Really sorry to hear about James Le Mesurier’s death. I saw in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syrian his deep commitment and passion for humanitarian support in conflict.

    I have deleted a strand about the unexplained death of founder James Le Mesurier in Istanbul. Shorter version: there’s a good deal of suspicion it may be murder by a state actor, but others suggest he may have taken his own life. I will pick up as it clarifies

    The fact that the ‘Syrian National Army’ speaks of renovation at all shows that the church was subject to damage of some sort when the town was taken from the SDF.
