サントリー学芸賞は一生に一冊しか本を書かない人の、その年の中ではそれなりにできの良かった博士論文に賞を与えるものではないんだから、そのあたりは各部門の審査委員がそろそろ再考する時期に来ている。

Big question of course is: will this lead to war? The received wisdom is that neither Hamas nor Israel wants a war. But if Islamic Jihad carries out massive retaliation for the assassination it could lead to one.
