    Mazlum and the SDF could suffer a legitimacy blow if the Kurdish commander comes kowtowing to Washington. Worse, Turkey will exploit the visit as proof America is harboring the PKK. The managers of this crisis appear to have fairly thoroughly damned the SDF.

    I really enjoyed my conversation with General . He appreciates what we have done, and I appreciate what the Kurds have done. Perhaps it is time for the Kurds to start heading to the Oil Region!

    I've posed this question a few times to NE Syrian administration officials since Dec. 2018. None have ever said that US reps said they would use military force to stop a Turkish attack -- on the contrary, I've been told that the Americans said they would not be able to.

    I wonder if it was ever communicated to SDF or SDC if the US would use military force to stop Turkey "from moving across their border". Maybe someone should ask.
