With the huge response to our callout for volunteers, we’re now getting a lot of questions about what material is needed out here so I thought I’d make a thread. If you are coming to Rojava, or know someone who is and want to support them, items on this list are always in need:
1. USB sticks

Especially double ended combination of USB-A, micro USB, USB-C to transfer between computers and phones

2. Rechargeable flashlights and headlamps.
USB rechargeable with standard micro USB port is essential

3. External hard drives
Media-based campaigns like #riseup4rojava and #womendefendrojava produce huge quantities of video. @ReadyToRokk and I have already filled 2TB of hard disks this month
Large 1TB or more
Rugged if possible, or with a good carrying case
4. USB battery packs Power cuts are a constant feature of life here, and many people – especially those working on the front lines – rely on USB battery packs to keep their phones charged and stay in touch with the outside world.
5. Winter clothing accessories
It gets surprisingly cold and wet in Syria over winter, especially at night.
Good quality winter hiking socks, such as merino wool or goretex
Thermal base layers
Good winter hats
Warm gloves or fingerless mitts
6. Multitools / Swiss Army Knives

7. Quality EMT / Trauma shears

8. Pulse oximeters These really are lifesavers for medics workings on the front lines. Rather than having to rely on feeling for a pulse in stressful conditions, EMTs and doctors in the field can snap these on a patient and make fast triage decisionspic.twitter.com/MH6FvigvIV
9. Chest seal packs
Tension pneumothorax is a regular injury here as a result of both gunshots and shrapnel from blasts. Chest seals are a foolproof way of saving the lives of people with sucking or open chest wounds.

10. Haemostatic agents
