I honestly believe arab deaths are just an abstraction. Unless it is either a religious minority or an ethnic one there is no way any narrative can get traction. Im saying this as an analysis not just an expression of discontent.

The value of an Arab live is a related to who is killing it.

Not to me and mine they ain’t. I’m madder’n’all Hell, as we say here in the MidWest, and I tend to do whatever I can as a US citizen to fight back against it. Is that much? Probably not. But we see you, we mourn with you, we are with you.

Oh I am most certainly not saying no one abroad sympathizes. I know many who do, some who put Arabs to shame. Just making a generalization about the mainstream.

Arabs themselves only care if a non-Arab kills an Arab. Arab killing an Arab or an Arab killing a non-Arab is fine.

It's also that foreign news reports are simply less read than national or metro. Very hard to break through the surface on stuff in the Middle East.

Sincerely, though, if anyone on this thread has any ideas *at all* as to how engaged American citizens can do anything in terms of lobbying / protesting / voting etc to help our brothers and sisters in Iraq, please do let me / us know. I’m not claiming to represent some 1/

kind of “silent majority” or anything of the kind (I wish!), but many of us do have a real sense of kinship with the people of Iraq (many Americans of course, were actually *in* Iraq, until 8 years ago). And us Yanks *do* know how to raise a ruckus - certainly these days! 😉🇺🇸
