I always like to make sure everyone is clear on my stances. Here's what my current agenda is regarding the whole trans situation.
What I fight for -
-For natal women to retain (or at this point, regain) the ability to talk about their issues with the language that fits best. Nobody should have to watch their mouth if they want to talk about their body or their rights.
-For transsexuals to get PROPER diagnosis, and appropriate treatment, and to go about a relatively normal life.
-For women's sports to remain fair. Regardless if transsexual women are women, something else, or whatever - No TS women should be competing against natal women until they find a point in transition in which competition would be a level playing field - which might very well be none at all. Sorry fellow TS, life some times deals you cards you just can't win everything with. We may need 2 more classes for sports. The restriction of 1 year HRT is DEFINITELY not fair.
-For "trans children" to receive counseling, but not to medically transition until at least puberty. Many desist at puberty, and thus, that sounds like a reasonable waiting period.
-For reasonable restroom rules. If a TS isn't yet passing, using the restroom of their birth sex isn't going to out them any more than just existing.
However, a passable TS shouldn't be subjected to constantly being outed or left horribly uncomfortable. The ideas TRAs push regarding restrooms are NOT a fair set of guidelines.
-For sex offenders to be barred from women's prisons. Sorry, not sorry, but if you were so dysphoric of your dick, you wouldn't be forcing it on anyone.
-For sex offenders to be unable to use a claim of "dysphoria" to hide their crimes. Violent crimes should not be stricken from record, or burried.
-For reasonable requirements before changing one's legal sex. A mere statement is absolutely not enough.
-For rape crisis centers to be excluded from any sort of "discrimination law". There are centers that will accept transsexuals, some that will accept "transgender", and there are some that will not. This is perfectly fine and reasonable. The only requirement there should be is a center that does not accept TS or "transgender" should direct those seeking help to a center that will, and not just turn them away. I don't hear of any centers currently just casting anyone out on their own.
I likely forgot to mention a few things, but you get the idea. What we had before worked. That's what I want back. TS women and natal women were doing just fine with the understanding we had. This new wave shit needs to end, it isn't fair to natal women, it isn't fair to transsexual women, and it isn't fair to children.
Love me or hate me, that's where I stand.
