FIJ (Factcheck Initiative Japan) is a non-profit organization for encouraging and supporting fact-check activities of Japanese media outlets and citizens, co-founded in June 2017 by journalists, academics and information technology cooperation.
We daily monitor many disputed online information, share them with media partners, and inform people of their fact-checking reports.
We have done fact-checking collaboration projects, in 2017 general election, 2018 Okinawa gubernatorial election, and 2019 upper house election.
We have also some technological projects which build some artificial intelligence (AI) system to detect automatically disputed online information, cooperated with Smarntews,Inc. and Tohoku University NLP Lab.
