ダーズリー夫妻には、ダドリーと呼ぶ男の子が居ましたが、『どこを探したってこんなに出来の良い子は居やしない』というのが、夫婦二人揃っての意見でした。

The Dursleys had everything they wanted, but they also had a secret, and their greatest fear was that somebody would discover it.
そんな、絵に描いたように満ち足りたダーズリー家だったのですが、秘密にしていることがあったのでした。 そして、その秘密を誰かに嗅ぎ付けられるということが何よりも怖いことだったのでした。
