    So, I have just been talking about the same idea, and a little while ago, the commander-in-chief of the , general , wrote his rejection of the Assad initiative.

    Assad forces seem to blackmail the Kurds by trying to integrate them into the components of the so-called Syrian army with some deceptive patriotism by the regime that the Kurds are an important component.., etc.

    My understanding of current situation in NE . The exact positions of the Assad Regime is difficult to know as they are opening & removing checkpoints frequently. Based on US presence & anticipated areas of interest, I mapped out likely control.

    This. As says, both Arabs + Kurds fought , both deserve equal protection + respect today. DC's obsession with the Kurds is simplistic and unfair to the many Arabs who fought the same fight. We need to stop picking "good guys" in the region. Simplistic + harmful.

    I could not agree more. Brett’s main selling point about then”SDF” was that it was almost 50 percent Arab. Ok. If it is, then why only highlighting the YPG component and only asking that Kurds get asylum? All are worthy whether Kurdish or otherwise.

    It's a moral obligation for the SDF to release the detained activists, or to give real guarantees regarding their detention,as there is a great fear among their families that Assad regime might enter and arrest them. It must be taken into account that these demands are legitimate

    Many of you do not know the reality of relationship between the people of Deir Ezzor and the Iraqi people. It is an old relationship, even the dialect we speak, 90% of it is similar to that of the Iraqis, and many Syrians do not understand us when speaking our dialect.
