I've decided to do a very long thread on Zahir al Umar, the guy in my profile pic. There is often a habit of focusing on modern Palestinian history as it relates to Zionism. Yet there is much more to Palestinian history than the recent conflict with Israel.

  2. Recognizing the Armenian Genocide is not up for debate. 1.5 - 2 million Armenians were systematically executed. Genocide denial strips the millions killed, and their survivors, of the dignity they deserve. We shouldn’t cherry pick tragedy based on political interests.

  3. The deficit which his buddy Trump exploded with his tax cuts for the rich?

  4. Did you know: Charlie Kirk will spew out random information and then link it to policy without actually talking about the actual policy He's also a rich kid who never accomplished anything Except being the popular young guy for Boomers He also talks like this

  5. (Whispers) yes. Now give it to the poor.

  7. Ilhan wasn't the worst offender today. There were 11 people voting no. There were other abstainers too (of curse Tulsi). But I hold Ilhan Omar to a higher standard because unlike those people, she's actually important. I'm not so much angry, as I am dissappointed.

  8. There is a hypocrisy in the West where for 100 years they denied the Armenian genocide, only to turn around when they're mad at Turkey to say "ok it happened". There are plenty of genocides the US hasn't recognized. The solution is to pass resolutions to recognize those ones

  9. Seriously the whataboutism has been used to justify every bad foreign policy action out there. Of course there is hypocrisy. I will adress this too, but first it's important to note the bill itself was good.

  10. That of course is not an excuse. Some people who can't get it through their head that their favorite muslim empire committed genocide is not an excuse to vote "Present". It's important other genocides are recognized but don't pull the entire whataboutism.

  11. This support for Erdogan only increased as he supported the Syrian rebels, and that dumb show Ertugrul came out (the most important thing Ertugrul did was have sex). So my main guess is she fears a portion of her base in the Muslim American community would desert her

  12. See a big problem within the Muslim American community is that many of us are far too favorable to Erdogan. This includes inviting him to the Muslim American conference. I've had to yell at some of my in-laws that the Armenian Genocide happened because they refuse to believe it

  13. Now people have speculated why. Some think she only dislikes Israel (not true, she criticized China, Brunei, Saudi). Others say shes a Muslim Brotherhood supporter (unlikely since she support LGBT rights) No I think the true cause of this is a fear to offend the Muslim community

  14. So today the United States House of Representatives did something historic and recognized the Armenian Genocide. Unfortunally there is a big problem. One of the democrats I've been defending, Ilhan Omar, voted present on this issue. This is very disappointing.

  15. you gonna put yourself out there as the most progressive member of congress, we gonna hold you to progressive standards. and no, oppression olympics is not progressive.

  16. I get she is against sanctions, but voting Present on recognizing the Armenian genocide is pure cowardice.

  17. From Mount Davamand to Mount Lebanon, Iran is having it's thugs oppress those who want freedom.

  18. I for one am shocked that the scum that flocked to Syria to kill Syrians in the name of Bashar Al Assad have now turned around to kill Lebanese and Iraqis. I'm also shocked that the liars who whitewashed these groups are still defending them

  27. There is plenty of stuff to criticize Obama on, especially in Syria. But 3 years of Trump has provided plenty of criticism for Trump. It's not about US policy in Syria. just wants to do his daily bullshit spreading.

  28. While in Syria they lost Tal Tamer, Tal Abyad, Ayn Issa, Shaddadi, Markadah, and Manbij, to the US coalition. The US also provided assistance to ES which took Al Bab and Jarabulus. All this before Trump came to office. would know this if he tried to learn

  29. Actually ISIS existed since the 1990s. Additionally it was Obama who formed the Coalition and alliance with SDF, and launched thousands of airstrikes on ISIS. This is why in Iraq under Obama, ISIS lost Baiji, Hit, Ramadi, Tikrit, Fallujah & much of Mosul (1/2)
