Hi all!
What's the message in your Answering Machine?

I think: Hi, You call the 020 **** ****. The person is actually unavailable. Please, after the BIIP leave a message with your number or email if you prefer. See you.

It's right?

    CiaoArtdir,
    yes, 020.... is London's number.
    Usually people say:
I'm currently unavailable to take your call but please leave your name and number and I'll call you back as soon as possible.

    Ciao;)

    Hello everybody,

I would highly appreciate if somebody would help me out a bit.

I need very short and simple Italian greeting for my voice mail. Something like: Hello, its ___, please leave you name and detailed message and I will get back to you at my earliest opportunity. Thanks. Have a great day!

Any other versions/ideas are always appreciated! Something that I will be able to say though.... no long difficult words for me please :)

Currently I am in a process of hiring an interpreter, but it is taking longer than I thought.... and I have a lot of calls coming in and italians for some reasons do not like leaving voice mails. I am assuming it is due to a language barrier or maybe it is a nathional trait?!

    Trully appreciate your help,

Can somebody correct the possible mistakes!

    Hi perfavore!
Ho corretto con "appena ne avrò l'opportunità", però detto al telefono, secondo me sembra scortese, quasi per dire: "ti chiamo quando non ho niente da fare". Ma è solo un'opinione personale! ;)

    Bye

Thank you so much guys! Trully appreciate your help!

    How about:

Salve. Sono Anastasia. In questo momento non posso rispondervi. Lasciate un messaggio (dopo il segnale acustico) e vi richiamerò quanto prima. Grazie

In response to your question in your original post, I believe you could well say that Italians on the whole don't like to leave messages on the voice mail. Call is a national trait if you will. 90% of callers will simply hang up when they hear the recorded message. At least, this is my experience (I have one in the office).
