Turkish government if it wants to recuperate some of its lost reputation, would tell the world the condition of this prisoner of war, in whose custody she is now held and if she needed medical care whether or not she received that medical treatment after her capture.

  5. These are the sectarian Iranian-backed militias that comprise the "Popular Mobilization Forces" supported by the Iraqi Armed Forces with US taxpayer money & military equipment. These same militias are deployed in Syria, killing thousands of civilians there.

  11. Some odd anger by Turkish nationalists (and joy by anti-Turks) re this tweet. It was modern Turkey that ended the caliphate and instituted a militantly secular regime aimed at eviscerating its legacy. So leave my great grandfather alone :)

  13. Nasrallah straight up adopting lines of authoritarian leaders across the Middle East. Claiming that protests will lead to civil war & destroy the country like other countries in the region. Also claims foreign hands & embassies are behind the protests.

The playbook employed by the family for 50 years and applied with catastrophic consequences in 2011 in could be replicated by ’s ruling clique. No better time to read the book & hope spared same fate.

You know you’ve seen it all when: Hezbollah supporters are in the streets of Beirut’s Southern Suburbs to support Hariri’s government and the Sunnis of Tripoli are in the streets demanding it be toppled 😄🇱🇧

For over a decade involvement in Iraq convulsed US politics, but now that the DC bandwagon has moved on political turmoil in Iraq that doesn't fit any of the usual op/ed talking points barely registers in US political debate

  21. Omer this would be extremely out of character for and if you have credible information to the contrary you should specify it and its sources before tweeting accusations like this. I am told a lot of garbage by a lot of people about a lot of things everyday.
