    In the wake of the ceasefire winners are Assad, Putin, Erdogan, and ISIS. Losers are the Kurds, US credibility as an ally, Israel, and Arab allies. POTUS comment on the “blood stained sands” will haunt US foreign policy as others around globe doubt our reliability under stress.

    Veteran Syrian Kurdish politician Abd al-Hamid Haj Darwish passed away today in Qamislo. He was (one?) of the co-founders of the first Kurdish party in Syria (El Partî) in 1957. Later he created his own party Progressive Party (Pêşverû) that he led since 1963. (1)

    I sincerely hope the US-led will support Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as it receives over 1,000 refugees per day from what was a stable NE Syria. Congress can also help ensure SIV processing. It would be doubly shameful to wash our hands.
