I've been a huge fan of the "Guides to Better Science" since they came out. They really clearly outline best practice in an enjoyable way and the latest one on writing code is potentially the best yet!

Good guide to reproducible code. I think this is useful for all researchers, not only for those in ecology/evolution. Even if you do not publish your code, some ideas definitely help to keep your records organized.
