    If the rebels, for example, figured that Turkey abandoned them after Aleppo, they’d probably have unified and fought back with the little they had. But Turkey still offered them hope & led them on. Soon they’ll lose Idlib, and end up being border guards for a little while longer.

    The Kurds are making the same mistake as the Syrian rebels. They let their patrons sell them but have no choicebut to cling to what support they still have. That stops them from fighting back as they lose ground gradually. By the end of it, they’ll find themselves with nothing.
