There are horrific reports of Turkish-aligned Arab militias torturing/executing innocents. US Defense Sec says he holds Turkey partly responsible: "They would be war crimes... In many cases it would be the government of Turkey that should be held accountable for this."

We heard from the top political official of the Syrian Democratic Council that Turkish-backed jihadi forces are seeking to wipe out the Syrian Kurds and that hundreds of ISIS fighters are escaping. McConnell must stop stalling and allow a vote on the bipartisan sanctions bill.

We are told to hate them because they are “separatists.” I can say now, as a Turk, that it is the policies of the state that are the source of hatred and division. Kurdish movement’s goals of pluralism&decentralization are the only thing that can bring this country back together

I am Turkish. I am a former government official. And I believe that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the PKK — described by President Trump as worse than the Islamic State — is not a terrorist organ. We are taught that all Kurds are a threat because of PKK

In a statement today. Initially media reported the explosion was as a result of a grenade that a group of individuals carried while drinking. The strike possibly from a drone comes three months after a Turkish ‘diplomat’ or MIT official was shot dead in a resturant in Erbil

Sad: Kurds have always seen the Americans as liberators. No US soldier died from 2003 until 2011 when the Americans were in Iraq. Now outraged by “America first” policy, American soldiers who have seen nothing but kindness from the Kurds are seen as traitors

It’s like America helped weaken us so that we would surrender to Turkey without a fight. But the Kurds feel they should fight until the bitter end, so they would not live to see the shameful fate that awaits them if they lose the battle. They no longer trust anyone but themselves

Our world has been turned upside down. I no longer feel there is justice in anything. Everything has become absurd and meaningless. The recent days have taught me the truth of this universe -- that it revolves in an indifferent hell”
