    初めてベイルートに行った時、日本から予約できる国際チェーンということでホリデイインの新しいホテルを予約して行ったのだが、空港のタクシーで「ホリデイイン」と言ったら「本当にいいのか?」と何度も聞かれて、旧ホリデイインの廃墟に降ろされた。

    ベイルートの街並み、内戦後もずっと穴だらけだったのだが、30年かけて(今の首相のお父さんが中心になってサウジのお金入れて)建て直したのでピカピカなのだが、そこでまた火つけたりしている。デモの写真見てもとにかく「建物が新しい」としか思わないオールドファンになってしまった。

  21. The YPG is a neo-Marxist group that is the Syrian branch of the PKK—which is designated as a terrorist group by the US, NATO, etc. I wonder what gives it away...maybe it’s the Red Star or the love for Abdullah Öcalan?! I’m not sure why this is so hard to understand.
