    Redur Khelil says SDF will withdraw from Ras el-Ein today if Turkey doesn't prevent it. He notes that the pullout only concerns the central, 125 km stretch of border between Ras el-Ein and Tell Abyad, but will extend all 30 kms south.

    AP's on the U.S.-Turkey deal, noting that the five-day withdrawal is from a 125 km wide central area—i.e. Tell/Ras, not the entire formely SDF-held part of the border. If Erdogan wants those other parts de-YPG-ified, he'll need to talk to Russia.

    The Syrian genocide began in 2011. Arabs, Kurds, Muslims, Christians. All of them hostages of a regime willing to destroy a country to preserve its rule. Everything that has happened since is impacted by this fact.

    After 8 years of not knowing the whereabouts of my uncle after he was abducted and thrown in Seydnaya prison (Syria’s slaughterhouse) by Assad. We have received the news of his passing earlier today, he was tortured to death. Please keep my uncle and my family in your prayers.

    米軍がシリアに行っているなんて知っている米国人ほとんどいない。トルコとはNATOのしっかりした同盟で長年やってきて核まで預けているのに、クルドの山岳ゲリラとの「同盟」を優先しろって議論は成り立たないでしょう。

    当然トルコもそういう落とし所を考えてガバッと20マイル幅で安全地帯設けると言ってるが、恒久的にそんなに大規模に統治できないだろう。大きく言っておいて、少しずつ譲るカードにする。
