    The Coalition continues our deliberate withdrawal from NE Syria. Force protection of our troops remains our top priority. No ground forces will participate in the enforcement of the safe zone, however, we will remain in communication with both Turkey and the SDF.

    Turkish Ministry of Defense claims the helicopter suffered a technical failure and crash landed. Additional report (not from the MoD) says it was then destroyed by an airstrike to prevent it from being captured.

    If that’s the case, (if there’s a strategy) US will be on both sides of the “Iranian corridor” + hold gas & oil fields Damascus desperate for. That doesn’t look like withdrawal, it just stayed away from “kids fight” and still kept a foothold important for the 3 goals it set

    So the “south” is Deir Ezzor?

    .....this thinking years ago. Instead, it was always held together with very weak bandaids, & in an artificial manner. There is good will on both sides & a really good chance for success. The U.S. has secured the Oil, & the ISIS Fighters are double secured by Kurds & Turkey....
