    アメリカが中東のパワーバランスを無視できるのは、地域大国すら圧倒するぐらいの軍事力を現地においているという前提があるからなんだが。シリアみたいに極端にショボい関与しかしてなくてロシアにもトルコにも見劣りしてきた。

    トルコがやってきたらクルド勢力はアサド政権に投降するしかないんだが、最初だけ丁寧に扱って、今後何世代にもわたって政権からはお仕置きが、地元のアラブ系住民からは報復あるんだろうな…

    米のシリア介入はアサド政権の転覆など全く不可能な規模のものでしかなく、航空戦力を持たない弱小イスラーム国に対して最新鋭の兵器で空爆して、現場はクルド勢力にお金と武器注ぎ込んで始末してもらうというもの。その過程でアラブ人やトルコ系少数民族はクルド人による迫害を受けたと主張する。

    それに対するブティジェッジも、シリアでの米の少人数の特殊部隊だけを送る介入を賞賛しているが、ロシアとトルコとアサド政権が合意して地上部隊で攻め込んで来たら少人数の特殊部隊では自らの身も守れないから撤退するしかない、という現実と乖離している。

    聞いてみたんですが、サウジのイエメン封鎖で数百万のシリア人が飢えているとか、米のシリア介入がレジームチェンジのためであるかのような（米軍は化学兵器使用の時以外はアサド政権に手を出していません）国際問題の事実誤認が多すぎですが、これが米政界の現状なのでしょう。

    先日の討論会のハイライトの一つ。徹底した非介入主義者ギャバードがシリアの「レジームチェンジ戦争」から米は手を引くべきだとの主張に対し、ブティジェッジはハミルトン、ルーガー流のインディアナ仕込みの国際主義で反論。
