>>931913>I don't see why they don't stay to Europe. You might be surprised, but there is no magic "whitey card" that allows white citizens of African countries the automatic right to immigrate to the West.
Certainly if you have a specific connection (a grandparent with British/Portuguese/French/Spanish citizenship) it is possible, but otherwise, white citizens of African nations have no more legal right to go anywhere than the average Sipho.
99% of African countries' citizens don't have visa-free entry to anywhere, even as a tourist. And ironically enough, even with the loosening of travel sanctions since the Nats threw in the towel, it's actually harder than ever before to travel on a South African passport, because foreign governments don't trust any documents issued by the South African government today to be genuine.
In any case, professional whites are already leaving. Some farmers who can are packing up for Namibia, Georgia, Mozambique, anywhere that is less hostile and seem like a better option than SA.
But remember that with SA's fortunes, the rand is collapsing. Those who don't possess assets priced in foreign currencies are rapidly being restricted to the bush leagues in terms of what capital and qualifications they have to fund a move out of the country.
Even South African university degrees have been degraded. For a few years after 1994, apartheid-era university degrees were accepted in developed nations were accepted by Western employers as the equivalent of their say Australian or Canadian counterparts.
But as time passes - and as South Africa is increasingly perceived as "just another African nation," the prestige of anything to do with the country is fading. There was a time when a history of working for a South African employer, state or private, or having a South African education was as good as any in the world. Of course, because of apartheid there was a moral stigma associated with being a white South African, but South Africans had a reputation for competence. A South African police or military officer could fly out of Jan Smuts International, land in the US, and get a decent job in his field, even if he was looked down on as an agent of an immoral, racist state. Today, though, a CV with "South Africa" anything on it is a giant red flag. What do you associate South Africa and anything related to the place with now? AIDS. Incompetence. Corruption. Crime.
