I’m not aware of existing texts BUT I do know that the Linguistics Lab at SFSU is researching on this exact topic! It’s headed up by Dr. Anastasia Smirnova :)

Search language evolved after query suggestions arrived. We definitely saw personal pronouns like “why is my boyfriend crazy” and “i have a sore throat.” Sometimes the “my” is a cue for personalization (see Fourney & Dumais 2016) In general see SIGIR, WWW & WSDM confs.

Thanks! What about when syntactic role is ambiguous? I study stalkerware and I’m interested in phrases like “spy spouse’s phone” bc the searcher could be the operator OR target, seeking out different info. Any studies on syntactic positions ppl are likely to place themselves in?

Good question; idk offhand. It wouldn't surprise me if people disguised their language. Maybe Nithya Sambasivan mentions this in http://g.co/genderequityonline …?

You might be interested in the work of Georgia Zellou on how people address voice assistants, can't think of anything specifically on text queries off the top of my head....
