There is a lot of good stuff out there, often with English language tracks, that needs to be downloaded, unnecessary languages stripped, and then shared. It would be a resyncing project, though, as the audio goes out of alignment right after the opening. Still an upgrade that would be worth it. nabiru3 14 Posted July 20 (edited) So lately I have been spending hours on the web just to find a good release for some old anime, and since it was just painful to go thru at least 8 google search pages to get what I wanted, I decided to make a list of still viable sites where you can download good decent releases for both old and new anime./I tried not to share links as to not violate any policy this forum has/ Torrent sites ( pretty sure most of you know what torrenting is) 1- Nyaa, Absolutely the best public tracker site for anime. it has tons of anime, both old and new, but the drawback is, most of its old torrents are unseeded and you can rarely find a good release prior to 2015 that is still seeded there. 2 - Tokyo Tosho, another great alt. to Nyaa, it has been here for years, and you will probably find what you looking for here. However, a lot of its torrents are under the grave and many people dislike the old, unchanging style of the site. 3 - Shanaproject, second to best. you can find a great collection of well seeded torrents, there and it also has a great UI and its search engine is great (it even gives you an option to either search by anime name or fansub group). one of its not-so-great aspect is, not showing the seeders/leechers counter next to the torrent`s name. 4 - Anidex, it hosts a lot of new anime, it provides authentic accounts for each group (seems easy to register a group account too). However, you will not find old anime there and the number of seeded torrents isn`t that big either. 5 - Anime Tosho, basically it just mirrors the torrents that Nyaa, TT have and it provides direct download links for some anime, albeit most doesn't work, but the main reason for why I go here, is because it provides separate download options for the attachments, which is way convenient if you are looking to get the scripts of a certain group for a certain release alongside the fonts used and chapters. AA also provides other info for each file including hash tags (CRC, MD5..etc), screenshots, media info. All in all, a really great site to check out. 6 - Bakabt, this one is a private trackers network, you must have an invitation before registering and to have an invite just read thru their FAQ. Bakabt contains some great releases for old anime and all of their torrents are seeded /as of the time of writing this/ and are in perfect health, but you MUST seed the torrents after you finish downloading and you MUST preserve a good leech/seed ratio otherwise you will be warned and maybe kicked out of the site once you reach your limit cap and your ratio isn`t good enough. The community is also nice and "friendly". 7- wakku.coalgirls, only contains coalgirls releases. I used to go here when I was in the mood to get some big a** files. 8 - Pantsu.Nyaa, just another Nyaa ! 9 - tracker.minglong, probably, not your best bet to find seeded torrents, but hey ! why not check it out. 10 - thepiratebay, NOT AN ANIME TORRENT SITE, but sometimes, by mere chance, I happen to find some well-seeded anime torrents. DDL (these were harder to find) 1 - Aumi.ru, my all-time-fav. , it contains tons of old anime and it tries to give you the best release in every anime, in some anime it even offers multiple releases to choose from. I have been using this site for years by now and I like it a lot, it has taken down some licensed anime, but they are not that many. beside that, it has some really speedy servers and I`ve never experienced any technical difficulties with it (note that in some anime, even though they are not stated as licensed, the download links are no longer working and there is no possible way to inform the admins of such matter). However, the site has stopped updating for years and you will probably not gonna find anything after 2014 on it 2 - Anime.thehylia, this was one of my fav., until they removed over half of their content due to licensing. it sill hosts many old anime, but if you`re looking for a specific anime then the chances are you`re not gonna find it here, also it usually changes the original file name to a pretty simple(stupid) naming scheme (ex, 4.mkv), so you have no way of knowing the group/quality/version of the file. 3 - Chauthanh, not that old, but very active and it uploads anime per request in less than 48 hours (requested more than 3 anime myself). has a lot of new/old anime and for most the quality is superb, as the admin is trying to get ONLY the highest quality possible for each release. However, it had removed some licensed anime, but certainly far far less than thehylia, so you`ll still find a huge collection of anime there. oh right, it also has Jdrama and OST too. 4 - Fluffy.is, just like thehylia before it took down half the content because of licensing. Overall, it has a lot of old anime collection and it picks great releases too, but however, just like aumi, the site has stopped updating and only contains anime of 2013 and before. 5 - ulzo.to, this is just a simple upload/share site, but the great thing about it, is that it hosts hundreds of thousands of original anime files and you can easily search them by keywords (anime name, fansubgroup ...etc), and you may find what u want if you gave it a shot. 6 - anime.plan9.de, not a big list, but you may find that old anime with that specific release you`ve been looking for. Download thru XDCC You probably know that most fansub groups / rippers nowadays have an IRC channel and have an XDCC packlist in which you can download their releases at a much higher speeds than using a sharing protocol method like torrenting. 1 - Nibl, this one hosts thousands of anime files, beside other things as well. It has both old and new releases and I've been using it for years by now without any problem. 2 - a lot of groups have their own XDCC bots, that can be found on their IRC channel. If you are looking to find them, then AniDB has their links. You can instantly delete the torrent after downloading all of it or even just a portion of it. There is no "hit and run" setup. 5) There is no blacklist as of June 2018. Anything has been free to offer since that point. If it's not there, it's simply that no one has offered it yet, but you're more than welcome to do so. I really advice people NOT to download from websites they are not familiar with, a lot of websites can inject viruses/malware to your machine (specifically the ones asking you to download).
