    やはりトランプ大統領の言っていることがよくわからない。アメリカが撤退するのはともかく「シリアとアサドがクルド人勢力を保護し、彼らのためにトルコと戦え」と言い放つ神経がよくわからない。トルコとシリアが戦ったらNATO第五条の集団的自衛権も問題もでてきそうな気はするが…。

    「エルドアンの売り込みを信じてトルコにやらせてみる」「騙されたら抑制する手段を持っておく」とトランプがツイートで言ってきたことが「戦略」なのだと思います。抑制する手段が「リラ暴落」だったりしますが。トランプとどれだけ連動しているか分かりませんが軍同士の関係はかなり深いと思います。

    アメリカ（というかトランプ）がそこまで戦略的に考えているとは思えず、国防総省の話も二転三転しているので、そういう計画があったというよりは、かなり突発的に決定がなされたように見えます。トルコにシリア問題を投げたというのはその通りだと思いますが…。

    トランプ政権はトルコ主導でシリアを安定化させるというプランにかなり賭けたのでしょう。他の選択肢だといつまでも終わらないことは分かりきっているので、トルコにやらせてみるということでしょう。

    このあたりはトルコ軍とシリア駐留米軍の間のやり取りがどの程度あるかが分からないと分かりませんが、実際に米軍がここで動いたということは、トルコが主張してきた、米軍とは安全地帯を巡って緊密にやり取りしている、という話が嘘ではなかったのかな、と思います。

    私が理解できていないのはそこではなくて、アサド政権軍がクルド人勢力と連携するに当たって、米軍がそれを阻止しようとしたことです。

    アラブ諸国は表向きはトルコの干渉を批判しつつ、内心はまずトルコにクルド勢力を制圧してもらって、その上でクルド勢力が逃げ込んできたらちょっと焦らして罰した上で抱え込んで、トルコとの交渉のカードに使うといういつものパターン。トルコだっていつものことだから分かってますよ...
