    私はトルコびいきではありませんが、今回の米国・西欧の反トルコ・親クルドの報道・言説は、集団思考に支配されているものに見えます。中東政治の分析をかなぐり捨てて、欧米の首都のロビー団体相手に議論を行っているのはかなり危険。

    ...早く損切りをしたのでしょう。冷たいですが、同盟のために独立を諦めてくれる人たちでもないので、トランプの選択は、後の米国大統領がやらないといけなくなることを今 やってくれたという意味で後の時代に評価されるでしょう。

    トランプとしてはアクティブにトルコに関与して中東問題を米軍の最小限の関与で米国の影響下に置いておけるという実例を示したいのでしょう。このままいくとYPGがイラク北部よりもさらに望み薄な独立に走り、トルコ内での活動を活発化させて結局米国とも決裂するのは目に見えているので...

    トルコとアサドの均衡関係という観点からはわかるのですが、アメリカがそこにアクティブに関わっていることが謎です。トランプは単に米軍を撤退させたいだけではない、と思うと、なおのこと理解に苦しみます。

    クルド建国を阻止する、という点ではイランとトルコとシリアと、サウジやエジプトも同じ立場と見られます。やり方や悪影響の面で苦言を呈する事があっても、邪魔しないでしょう。例えばアラブ諸国はトルコがアラブの土地を占領することには反対しつつ、クルド勢力の力を削いでくれることは賛成。

    イランから見たシリア北部の紛争の分析。アサドとソリが合わないクルド人勢力だが、それ以上にイラン国内のクルド人勢力が呼応することを懸念しているとの見立て。

    トランプは中東の安定化の解決策はシリアにトルコの勢力圏を広げてもらうこと、と考えているのでしょう。米国の責任を度外視すれば、そんなに変な政策ではない。トルコはある程度勢力範囲を抑えてアサド政権と均衡したら交渉するんでしょう。中東政治の通常運転。

    米軍はアサド政権軍がトルコと戦うクルド人勢力を支援することを止めようとしたとのこと。アサド政権軍は米軍の敵ではなかったのか？そこまでしてトルコを支援するのは何でなんだ？もうわけがわからん…。 さんから

    Nobody’s got clean hands here. The SDF ethnically cleansed some areas of Syrian Arabs; the Turks kill civilians; Assad is a mass murder; the Russians willfully bombed hospitals; and the US made promises it wouldn’t or couldn’t keep. This really isn’t a great neighborhood.

    Finally there’s risk of ISIS resurgence following weekend events. Assad is responsible for over 90 percent of civilian deaths in Syria. His brutalization of country’s Sunni Arab majority helped germinate seeds of ISIS. Assad come back into eastern Syria risk triggering ISIS 2.0
