THREAD on the Turkish incursion into Northern Syria. 1. Before I start, read the thread below, where has outlined the situation very nicely. I will simply use it as the foundation of my explanation of Russia’s position.

You mean the best way for you to keep pillaging the Ukrainian budget, even consciously knowing that it will lead to the disintegration of statehood.

I'm told by a senior BBC figure that the reason I'm rarely invited to speak by and Current Affairs is that "you're seen as an extremist". I think this says more about the BBC than it says about me.

With the 2020 US election approaching, Trump needed to add something to his list of achievements/fulfilled campaign promises. And also to render Project Tulsi useless. This withdrawal also acts as a hammer blow to the attempts of the CIA to topple him.

Most honest tweet from a US politician you'll find. ISIS is just a group of mercenaries, like Al Qaeda, and it just so happens that Turkey was their backbone, until Russia smashed it. ISIS is not just some roaming bunch of barbaric settlers. Israelis, on the other hand, are.

"Free Syrian Army” A “hybrid" Trojan horse funded by all belligerents that could fight side by side with Al Qaeda & still be presented as “moderate”. The remnants of the FSA today are Turkish proxies. Today the collective West dares to condemn it despite fuelling it for years.

Well, the obvious suggestion when it comes to “endless wars” is Israeli aggression. But of course, for a US president it is taboo to talk about this. So Trump uses the Turk/Kurd card as a way of approaching the problem from a different, safer for him angle.

A important point! Hence why I keep saying there is no “Turkish invasion”. Turkey’s presence is within international law, unlike the US’.

The truth: Looks like the plan concocted in Moscow has worked. The Kurds were successfully squeezed.

What’s happening right now in the (and especially in ) is the reconfiguration of the global order, the result of which will determine the status quo for the next 50-100 years.

Excellent news. Long may this snowball into Turkey being a graveyard for the CIA.

    23. The Rojava Kurds thought they had a good plan and that spitting on Damascus would happen without consequences. WRONG. It’s time to pay the bill now. Assad accepts any of the Eurasian currencies. Sadly the Kurds only seem to have useless dollars, shekels, and riyals. End.

    22. It is THIS that the S-400 is all about: ensuring that all players respect the rules of risk. Will Moscow shootdown your fighter jet if you fly over Hmeymim without coordination? None of the belligerents had the balls to find out. Indicative.

    21. All in all, the collective West is doing absolutely nothing to stop the Turkish incursion besides lip service so that the “ally” Kurds aren’t too offended. Russia never deceived the Kurds - the door for talks was always open, Damascus didn’t, and Tehran didn’t.

    20. At the same time, Turkey holds collateral against Moscow and Beijing, owing to the pragmatic nature of relations. Ankara makes PR statements about “Uighurs internment camps” and gives superficial support to Ukrainian terrorists like the Mejlis. This will change over time.
