  1. Conflicting reports on Tabaqa Airport. Despite the video posted last night, some soldiers in southern Raqqa reporting that they haven’t actually entered yet.

  2. A firefight broke out overnight in the town Al-Sanamayn. This clash took place after an FSA sleeper cell attacked a security checkpoint and the local police station. A couple of securiy personnel were wounded as a result.

  3. All claims about a Russian “no-fly -zone” of northern Syria are false. Turkish Air Force is bombing the Ras Al-‘Ayn countryside right now.

  4. The Syrian Army has entered the Tal Tamer District in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.

  5. Neither the Syrian Army nor the SDF wants the Turkish military or their allies to take over the border. The deal is simply a military cooperation agreement. Something similar to what we see today in Tal Rifa’at.

  6. One thing to point out: the deployment of the Syrian Army to SDF-held border areas does not mean any political settlement has been made. The government and SDC are still at odds. The agreement was done because it is mutually beneficial to both parties.

  7. The battle for Tabaqa Airport in August 2014 was one of the sites of the Islamic State’s largest massacres in Syria. They executed over 200 Syrian Army soldiers, mostly conscripts, in the desert region outside of Tabaqa.

  8. Overnight several Syrian Army units from Aleppo city moved towards the SDF-held areas. One of the cities the Syrian Army is heading to is Tabaqa. Tabaqa is incredibly important to the Syrian government because of the Tabaqa Dam, which is a major power source in northern Syria

Vladimir Putin is supposed to travel to Riyadh in the next few days to meet with the Saudi government. Will be interesting to see what comes out of this meeting, given the recent Turkish operation in northern Syria. It’s worth noting that Riyadh has been backing the SDF.

And in three days, the government will say: “we are ready to protect our Kurdish brothers against the Turkish aggression.” Nothing in this war is ever static, except for the inconsistencies in behavior.

But legitimately, I have even found myself reading about pro-government factions on his website. His interviews with Durzi militiamen are incredibly rare. There is so little information on many of these groups, but they play important roles in the war

Aymenn’s website in general is gold mine for rare interviews and information on different factions in Syria and Iraq. I don’t think there is another person who has interviewed people from all parties in the Syrian conflict

The Arab hypocrisy at its best, calling for an emergency meeting for the league to discuss the invasion of North Syria while they kicked out of this league and played a major role in destroying it...
