Yet, in spite of the fact that the US is basically taking a chunk of profit from every single economy in the world, they STILL managed to mismanage their economy (and thus the world economy) into the ground. Rather than enriching the average american, they enriched the top 0.1%. Rather than working to build up 3rd world countries, those nations were exploited and resistance met with mass murder and war.
Now the 3rd and 2nd world nations are reaching a point of development where they can say "fuck off" to the US. They're beginning to work together, rather than for the interests of Americans who don't give a fuck about them. This is the advent of the "unipolar world" that Russia and China are spearheading, and which may be quickly joined by Brazil and India.

This has been a few years coming, the BRICS countries plus a few others, like France, Syria, & Iran, have been planning to supplant the U.S. dollar as the reserve currency & replace it with a "basket of currencies" for many years now.
That basket, last I heard, was to include the Ruble, the Chinese Yuan, the Euro, gold, & possibly the Japanese Yen & possibly silver (hence Mexico toying with the idea of silver-backed Pesos).
All the wars we've been involved in, and the overthrow of various governments in the Mideast, has been to try and force the entire region to only accept U.S. dollars. We targeted 7 countries for regime change, and managed to topple all but Syria and Iran.
I fear it will not be enough, and there will be a backlash as the dollar becomes weaker and weaker.
What will Europe do? It's damn cold over there, right now, and they use a lot of Russian gas & oil. Now they need Rubles to buy it, and the Russians will not accept Dollars.
Looks like the Ruble just got very necessary…

As for the oil price, the way I see it is that OPEC countries are going to stabilize the price somewhere around 40 or even 30 dollars per barrel. And then they're going to start cutting down on production.
Now if they do it slowly, it will be a slow gradual increase that will take years.
If they're fucking retards and pull another 70s oil crisis, there will be an even bigger push for nuclear plants (since 50% of global oil consumption goes into generating electricity).

The entire US dollar depends on this, if OPEC starts using a different currency for oil sales the dollar WILL collapse.
Now, I don't know how significant Russia is in this whole equation, maybe it's no big deal or maybe it's huge, but the US has ALWAYS defended the Petrodollar system with military force or with covert intelligence operations.
