Coalition contact confirms SDF have made a deal with the Syrian government. The last few days have been brutal. Mazloum met with the Russians. It is unclear at this stage whether it's just for Manbij and Kobane or a much-wider deal.

Horrific images coming out of NE Syria this morning, after Turkish air strikes targeted a civilian convoy. 40+ reported casualties, many charred and dismembered. Unclear how many of those are dead. Two French journos said to be among the victims. Trump? “Let them” fight.https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1183369133301391365 …

Several families in Manbij are preparing to flee because their relatives were involved in anti-regime activities. Most will stay. They want stability & are tired of displacement. Acc to Syrian Army sources, initial deployment will be only along frontlines to fend off Turk attack

To prevent a looming Turkish-led offensive on Manbij, the SDF has agreed to surrender the town to the Assad regime. Kobanî, which survived months of ISIS siege, previously home to 2 US bases, will be handed over as well. This is according to both regime and pro-SDF media.

I wonder what the Turkish-backed National Army and other opposition forces would do when this comes true and they meet Assad forces.https://twitter.com/HassounMazen/status/1183407987332911105 …

At least three-four British women (including ISIS recruiter Tooba Gondal) and their children, Irish former soldier Lisa Smith, and three suspected British orphans were in Ain Issa camp in northern Syria. Now we have no idea where they are. Absolute chaoshttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/10/13/hundreds-islamic-state-prisoners-escape-amid-turkish-assault/ …

I don't know how Turkish media can celebrate such thing. It doesn't matter on whose side she was. She was a politician and a co-head of a political party and executing her in such brutal way is a war crime and a violation against freedom and Democracy. https://twitter.com/yenisafak/status/1183028907693477888 …

A few minutes before the Turkish plane bombed north of Ain Issa, the American armor left Ain Issa! I was a witness there with my own eyes.

It is still unclear who let ISIS families escape. Both sides are denying their control of the town and camp of Ain Issa and blaming each other. I was told before that both town & camp are empty of any military groups and the camp is now unguarded.https://twitter.com/HassounMazen/status/1183356003863220224?s=19 …

Turkish-backed forces are preparing to attack Manbij, as the US is signaling it is leaving quickly. Thousands of fighters from Idlib have been recruited into the ranks of the assaulting forces against the SDF. A US ally, now forced to surrender to the regime.
