    One of the oddest things about the Trump announcement is that a readout from Erdogan's office of phone call made no such mention of imminent US pullout or greenlight. Was extremely bland. Main point was Erdogan to visit Washington next month.

    Noticeable shift in police tactics in Baghdad in recent days. Tear gas and bullets started quickly against a crowd which gathered late afternoon. Reports of 4-5 dead since we left.
