    I’m 100% in favor of whistleblower protections, because I know and have worked with quite a few. Real whistleblowers expect to lose everything, and usually do, legal protection or no legal protection.

    The stuff I’ve been writing about for two-plus years - from the use of informants to leaks of manufactured news stories to FISA abuse to efforts to partner with Internet platforms to control media - are not conspiracy theory.

    What was bad was the misreporting of the reasons for Smolenkov’s exfiltration, and the timing of it. They tried to blame it on Trump, but it took place before Trump took office, thanks to their own incompetence

    Yes, and they make highly suspect, self-serving reports on a regular basis, among other things about stories in which they have direct and controversial roles, like the exfiltration of Oleg Smolenkov.
