Pro-authoritarian ‘Liberal and secular’ elites don’t like such scenes. Their purpose is making sure there is no democracy so ‘Islamists’ won’t kill it. Thanks to Ghanouchi and Ennahdha’s strategic patience against the many ill wishers, Tunisia is breathing democracy -for now-

The magical stick to turn any seemingly secular act into worship is God-consciousness. Even acts such as using Twitter, which at times can be the most compulsive hand movements of our day, can turn into worship when one consciously decides to log in, look for good and say good.

I have blamed Western media/academia for their biased coverage of Turkey but Turkish ruling party -in power for 18 years- has failed both PR war and also the intellectual/culture war. CHP didn’t win elections when in power. CHP imposed change & CHP order is still as it was.

CHP is the intersection of Islamophobia, ecofacism, secular authoritarianism, isolationism in foreign policy, ethno-nationalism, elitism and modernisation (as envisioned by MENA elites influenced by colonialism)! CHP is a shitehole. It stinks.

The anti-Syrian refugee sentiment in Turkey which was mainstreamed by the disgraceful CHP politicians is now at its peak. It is time for experts and researchers to deal with CHP as AfD or BNP. The only difference is CHP has an actual chance to be in power!

Certainly there is nothing inherently ‘loud’ about us. No one should feel snowflaky about it. It is more the ways our cultures have been affected in modern times. But before it gets too deep for Twitter. I will stop it at there.

And the Frudean inside me believes it all starts at childhood. In Iraq, most Kurdish and Arab parents don’t talk to their kids. They shout at them. Such kid never learns talking. Watch Arab/Kurdish talkshows, debates, classrooms. It is a huge messy shouting match.

Kurds, Arabs and to some extent Turks talk very quickly and converse in shouting tones while Persians (or Iranians in general) have generally calmer and slower talking manners. This partially explains the way do they politics and diplomacy too. Row emotions vs strategic planning.

And the last is someone who is awake to worship the Master of Dawn and Dusk. Such person gets to see the beauty of the morning time beyond the hurry and rush that defines other ‘early birds’. Such person is a very lucky one.

And there is the one who is either working on a late night shift or has to wake up to go to work. Such person has to consume loads of coffee and self help books to justify why it is fine to wake up early to satisfy a boss and looking professional.

There are three types of people who are awake in early morning hours. One with a disturbed sleep pattern who either hasn’t gone to sleep or has waken up prematurely due to a racing mind.

Whether one uses Twitter or Facebook to post cute dog pictures or keep up with friends’ relationship status updates or fighting bigotry, a God-conscious entrance can bless the work and reduce negative externalities of social media use. Try it. And don’t thank me.

Entering Twitter God-consciously allows the mind to create a space between the impulse in mind to use Twitter and the movement of the mouse or the fingers to carry out the command. Such conscious entrance removes much of the compulsivity that follows a compulsive log in.

I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center for the excellent care that they provided. After two and a half days in the hospital, I feel great, and after taking a short time off, I look forward to getting back to work.

We can’t prevent the hateful papers from doing what they are handsomely paid to do but we can respect people like Miqdad Versi and his colleagues at MCB who do endure the pain of representing a silenced vocie, voluntarily. Faith beats money. Love trumps hate.

Whenever there is a crisis in Middle East, Iran moves Qassim Soleimani, Qatar moves Aljazeera and Saudi Twitter bots. That is why Iran wins on ground, Qatar wins narrative war and Saudi hashtags are trending worldwide.

This is sick, a 9 yr old Syrian child who was bullied by his teacher and class-mates hanged himself on the door of a graveyard. Anti-refugee sentiment kills, fanning the flames of hatred against Syrians and tolerating hate speech because "that's how ppl feel" is not an excuse
