The current behaviour of instantly redirecting to /login is hurting UX. On the other hand, seeing the wire modal could incentivize them to actually create an account and spend money

Developer@ottman Wire modal doesn't support being shown when logged out, as it will show an error and redirect to the login screen afterwards (this was the behavior you saw on the prototype). We can modify the Wire dialog to handle things nicely when logged out, but I will need Mark's approval.
