Before Dartmouth: Ashely was a four-time letterwinner in both cross country and track & field at Great Oak High School... She was captain of the cross country team both her junior and senior years... Her freshman, junior and senior years her team placed 1st in both the CIF-SS Dvision 1 Finals and the CA Cross Country Division 1 Team State Championship... Then her senior year her team also placed 1st in the 2013 Southwestern League Finals... Her sophomore year she placed 1st in the 2012 Southwestern League Finals in the 3200m... In Ashley's junior year she placed 1st in the 2012 Southwestern League Finals in cross country... She also set records in the 3 mile and 1600m her junior year... Ashley's senior year she was named onto the Girls All-Riverside County 1st Team, Riverside County All-Senior Team, and All-Inland 1st Team.
Personal: Ashely is the daughter of Michael and Taiko Helbig... She has a twin sister who is attending the Naval Academy.
