I honestly don't understand the reasoning of people who claim to be humanitarian, argue that the regime is brutal but criticize a plan to enable the return of refugees back to Syria. Don't underestimate the willingness of Syrians to go back if there is security & infrastructure!pic.twitter.com/t8eIf8hvnK

Why should Syrians live as refugees when they could return to Syria? Erdogan's plan may be the most humanitarian project since the beginning of the war addressing key needs to enable the return of refugees Would u prefer them going back to Assad or become the 2nd Palastinians?

It isn't demographic engineering when Assad, ISIS & the YPG pushes out unfriendly populations, but it is demographic engineering when there is a genuine plan to enable their return?! Most refugees came from regime areas. Who believes they will return to Assad?!pic.twitter.com/qIpWGea2Yv

The willingness of the Syrians to return to Syria is enormous, but they are afraid to return to the regime areas. Idlib, Afrin & ES are just overcrowded. If someone wants a realistic perspective for Syrians to return, there isn't any better plan than the one Erdogan presented.pic.twitter.com/fnbatMe4oN

Since when is the freedom of movement legally restricted inside Syria for Syrians?! According to UNHCR, there are 6.2 million people displaced within Syria, the biggest IDP population in the World. Living in another part of Syria has already become a reality for Syrians!

Those who unjustified criticize Erdogan's plan should also ask themselves how many refugees their own state has accepted, how many social and economic tensions their country is facing because of the biggest refugee population in the world. It's easy to talk from far away!

Their intentions are motivated by political goals. They are not concerned by « humans right » violation. Those who wanna stop this project are looking for pretexts.

so who provides the security and infrastructure in these areas? SDF / PYD does. The parties Turkey wants to get rid of. This is a very very bad plan
