Who on earth at @UKAFRugby thought this would be okay - a British military rugby team visiting a shrine to Japanese war criminals? It’s a huge insult to the families of 50,000+ FEPOWs.

Westerners, Don't forget this. It may not have been important for you, but for many asian, Japan was like Hitler Germany (And even so far, they are not apologizing) (The pics were the drawing in column which published in a foreign newspaper at the time)pic.twitter.com/P0kojPzqA2

Yasukuni Shrine commemorates those who died in service of Japan from the Boshin War of 1868–1869 through the First Indochina War of 1946–1954. The Times claiming to be “the best of our jounalism”? Pathetic. Start by learning the very basic facts before spreading misinformation.

John & Yoko @ Yasukuni Shrine😀 If someone don't like it , then don't! But if someone would like to worship ALL people who died during wars in the past, then do it!pic.twitter.com/xegrpm7TFQ

That's simply too bad. 'War crimes' have only been prosecuted by the victors, but that's just not good enough in the 21st century. A war criminal can be a hero to others, so to categorically label #Yasukuni filled with "souls of executed war criminals" is totally uncalled for.
