    頭文字の艦船接頭辞"H.M.S."が公的に使われ始めたのは18世紀末なので、この切手シリーズのうち15～17世紀の艦であるメリー・ローズ、ソヴェリン・オヴ・ザ・シーズにはHMSを付していないのは、拘りを感じますね(実はチューダー朝やスチュアート朝時代の艦は仲間外れにしてるだけだったりして?)。
