    I know this lesson isn't allowed into the discourse now because "neocons" and whatnot, but if you keep appeasing a revolutionary imperial power, eventually they will cross a line and you'll end up in a massive war. Better to clip their wings now.

    According to Pompeo, "deterrence" means denying "the aggressor the wealth and resources to commit acts of war and terrorism around the world." Not only is that not what the word means, but the alleged Hezbollah/IRGC budget crunch is outright disinformation.

    Unless "held accountable" means paying a price in blood and infrastructure for its outlaw behaviour, will in no sense feel itself punished, let alone deterred from the next step, and why should it? To have done this in the first place tells you the sense of things in Tehran
