Rosé shown not wearing a seatbelt during the music video.

Despite the popularity of the album's title track, the South Korean public broadcaster KBS banned it's music video from being shown on television for violating the country’s "Road Traffic Act" as in the music video, Rosé is seen driving without a seat belt around the first minute of the song's video.

Photo cards issued with the "Kill This Love" album received backlash from both critics and audience.

Photo cards that were issued in the "Kill This Love" album showed members of BLACKPINK with bruised on their faces. This received backlash from the audience as well as critics who believed that this was a tasteless glorification of domestic abuse; with people on twitter questioning whether any form of abuse should be used for “aesthetic” purposes. Album composer, Bekuh Boom responded to the controversy on Instagram by stating that the song itself was not about domestic abuse and that it's "unfortunate that people are trying to turn the song and it’s meaning into something negative."
