Pics from the Armenian part of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The mosaic on the floor highlights some of the most important holy sites, such as Mt. Ararat, the paintings show various Armenian saints, like St. Mesrop who invented both theirs and the Georgian alphabet

Overall the art is quite unique (did a thread on the Met Armenian exhibit a year back with a bunch of good examples), and features a lot of tile work. It was largely Armenian potters who made the ceramics that cover al-Aqsa and leftover tiles were repurposed by the community here

NYC: If you’re in town, go to the Brooklyn Historical Society and see the “Muslims in Brooklyn” art and sound exhibit. It tells the stories of Muslims in our beautiful city through our own oral histories! And if you look under “2010–Present,” you may see a familiar face! 😉

I just scanned all of Patrick Seale's out of print 1965 "The Struggle for Syria: A Study of Post-War Arab Politics 1945-1958," DM me if you want a copy... great political history largely based on the author's interviews with the politicians themselves
