From This Wicked Way Comes: KFAI community radio station has launched a new podcast. This Wicked Way Comes, (http://www.thiswickedwaycomes.com/), an actual-play podcast in which Jill Sherman plays Maris and Warble, nomadic twin sisters surviving in a fractured world, and trying to carve out a piece of the fallout for themselves. Matthew Sochocki plays the game master, crafting the world of waning hope and zero-sum situations the sisters suffer and overcome. During play, the couple's relationship shines through with laughs, frustration, and the way they enjoy each other's company. The show is geared toward adults interested in Role Playing Games (RPGs) like Dungeons and Dragons, improv, and apocalypse and science fiction stories. Adult language, violence, and subject matter makes this podcast NSFW.

In the most recent episode Maris and Warble set out in a muscle car across the wasteland on a mission to settle the score between Bass, the mayor of Escalante Lake, and outsider camp leader Algarvia. They explore suggestive rock formations, forgotten glories, and last chances on the horizon. The group keeps their cool when the sky drops on their head.

Matthew Sochocki says, "For awhile I was writing short fiction, and during that time I came up with the characters of Maris and Warble. Neither of them are very like Jill, but I'd noticed that at times, I would see bits of them in her. I designed this game as a way for us to spend time together, but also as a way for her to spend time trying these characters on and embracing her inner badass."

Jill Sherman says, "As a player, being responsible for two great characters like Maris and Warble has been a challenge. But then I look at what Matthew is doing, building this huge world, creating stories, and playing countless NPCs. I'm in awe of his talent and creativity. And the fact that he's doing it all this work just to create a space for me to play in... it's been a wonderful gift."
