I greatly enjoyed the fanfiction novel "The Methods of Rationality" by Less Wrong a.k.a. Eliezar Yudkowsky. If you haven't tried it, please, go to www.hpmor.com
His fan version included scenes where the protagonists compete in an event he made up whole-cloth. I liked his novel so much, I designed and embroidered some patches, based on how he described them for the teams in his book.
I showed them to a few other fans, who suggested I try making more. Mr. Yudkowsky graciously allowed me to go ahead with this project, to let other fans celebrate his novel.
You can see those original patches here. The only changes I'm making are that I'm adding the unit names over the shields.
Colors
I will make the patches available in two color schemes.
- Bright (Metallic Silver on Black) Nice and flashy. The high contrast is very eye catching.
- Subdued (Sand on Brown) Very authentic. Kids playing wargames in the woods would want their patches to match their camo print uniforms.
Risks and challenges
I've never mass distributed anything before, so this won't be easy. That's why I'm only shipping to the US. Also, I'm shipping things that aren't fragile, and I'm using bubble envelopes anyway.
