Coach Jeff Rohrman has been involved with the sport of soccer for over 40 years. As the Varsity Soccer Coach at SSFS, the Beests’ have captured both a PVAC regular season (2013) and conference tournament championship (2014). Since Jeff’s arrival on campus the program has produced 23 All-Conference selections (14 First Team), seen 5 players go on to play collegiately, and has had 3 players earn Conference Player of the Year honors. Jeff has created a culture of excellence at SSFS, where the program has competed for championships every year in the PVAC. His overall record at Sandy Spring is 56-16-4, posting a 37-6-3 record in conference play.
As a longtime collegiate coach, Jeff spent 7 season as the Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin, where he led the Badgers back to regional and national competitiveness. In his first season the Badgers were nationally ranked for the 1st time in 6 years, and were nationally ranked in 4 of his 7 seasons in Madison. Under Jeff’s leadership, the Badgers produced 17 All Big Ten selections, 4 NSCAA All-Regions selections, 2 MLS draft picks, and 1 NSCAA All-American. In addition, the Badgers earned 44 Academic All Big Ten honors, 11 All Big Ten Freshman selections, and 16 Big Ten Player of the Week selections.
Prior to his time at Wisconsin, Jeff served as the top assistant at the University of Maryland. While at Maryland, the program went 94-50-6, with 6 NCAA Tournament appearances, an ACC conference championship (1996), and a College Cup appearance (1998). In College Park, he helped produce 6 All-Americans, 18 ACC All-Conference selections, 11 MLS players, 5 Hermann Trophy Finalists, 1 ACC Conference Player of the Year, 1 ACC Tournament MVP, and 1 National Freshman of the Year.
Jeff has also worked with the United States Soccer Federation in Chicago as a National Teams Coordinator, where he managed and oversaw US Youth National Teams’ domestic training camps and international trips and competitions. He coordinated and led the US Olympic Festivals for US Soccer, as well as the logistics for the US Soccer delegations at the FIFA Youth World Cup in Australia and the FIFA Futsal World Championships in Hong Kong.
In addition to his work at SSFS, Jeff also serves as one of the coaching directors at the Bethesda Soccer Club. He holds a USSF National “A” license, and has worked with both State and Regional ODP staffs. He has been inducted into the Irondale HS (MN) and Bethany Lutheran College (MN) Hall of Fame.
Coach Nancy Rohrman has an outstanding coaching resume and amazing playing career that spans almost three decades. As a coach, she has been a part of numerous State and Regional Championships at the club level, while developing and producing numerous players who have gone on to represent State and Regional ODP Teams, as well as US Youth National Teams and the US Women’s National Team. In 2002, after helping guide her Bethesda club team to 6 consecutive State Championships, she won the prestigious USYSA National Championship.
As a player, Coach Nancy has a resume that is equally as impressive. While at the University of Hartford, Nancy was named All-Conference, All-Region, NCAA All-Tournament, and Conference Player of the Year, while guiding Hartford to 4 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Final Four her senior season. Upon graduation, she was selected to be a member of the US Women’s National Team that participated in, and won the gold medal, at the World University Games (1993). Nancy was a member of the US Women’s National Team for 2 years, and played in 4 US Olympic Festivals, winning one gold medal. Her club team, SA United (VA), won 3 consecutive National Amateur Championships.
Nancy was also a member of the Maryland Pride of the United States Women’s Interregional Soccer League, where she was a key figure in their National Championship run in their inaugural season (1996). While a member of the Pride, Nancy’s teams won 4 division titles to go with their National Championship. Over her 6 seasons the Pride compiled an overall record of 67-20-1. In 2008, Nancy played with MYSC in the WPSL, and was named Conference Player of the Year, after guiding them to the playoffs in their first year in the league.
Nancy holds a US Soccer National “B” license, and has twice been named Coach of the Year by the Middleton Yahara Soccer Club (WI). Coach Nancy has been honored by both the University of Hartford and the Ohio North Youth Soccer Association as a member of their Hall of Fame.
