goldfish - a fish which is in the carp family
They grow to the size of their container. There is a children's book which tells the story of how a goldfish kept outgrowing its containers: from fishbowl to aquarium to backyard swimming pool to eventually being released into a lake. This narrative is similar to the flash game called Tasty Planet, where a goldfish, spoiler warning, eventually consumes Earth.
