    A decade ago, you might have got a subtler, more effective line from the professional Beijing apologists - that the HK protestors were children, trouble-makers, if only they were more reasonable concessions could be made. Impossible to sustain that nowadays.

    This mini documentaries are so great. Insightful and capture so much, including some humorous moments. The two guys speaking at the end of their new respect for young people and how they feel they didn’t do enough is a sentiment I’ve found to be fairly widespread.

    UK continues to pretend it has no responsibility.

    UK decides that children born to British parents in the ISIS caliphate will not be allowed back to the UK. It’s unclear how many are languishing in Syria & Iraq because the UK gov has chosen not to send representatives to check, citing security concerns.
