As someone who's had my parents track my phone and my car, I can assuredly say that it only ruined trust and made me become better at finding ways around it. I would use other apps that could spoof the location on my phone and remove the tracking chip from my car everytime I went out. Parents, I assure you that if you choose to track your kid they will 1. Find a way around and it and 2. Resent you.
I allow my mom to track my phone because she’s still scared of me driving alone (I’m 16 and got my license in March). I have no problems with it but if she starts questioning where I am and what I’m doing it’ll go right off
I mean, having a tracking app on your kids’ phone, in and of itself, isn’t a terrible thing and everyone should do it imo. Because bad shit happens. Kids wreck cars, kids get abducted, etc. and it’s way faster to track the location off an app than to wait for police to get the carrier to hand over location data. That being said, obsessively checking the app and questioning your kid if they’re 50 meters from where they said they’d be and being intrusive into their lives is insane. When I was growing up, I was supposed to call when I got to my friend’s house. Sometimes I forgot so my parent would call their house and make sure I made it. With the app, a parent could quickly check that the kid made it safely and that’s ok too. But I don’t understand this mentality of “I just know every single thing at every single moment”.
Yeah. My mom just uses find my iPhone and idk how often she looks but i know all she wants is to make sure I’m driving safely
It's not very common, but you see it some places.
In Canada it’s rare to not have tap. My card has tap, my moms does, my dads does, I have Apple Pay, etc. I rarely use the chip because tap is so convenient.
Sweatpants in my case
I wear both. Haven’t worn a pair of jeans in 2 years. Being fat and wearing a belt is not a good combo
When I was little, I hated food. I was a skinny shit who barely ate anything. I assume you know what happened when my mom discovered that I liked some foods. She kept feeding me what I wanted and here I am, almost 300lbs at 16

It doesn’t matter how many guns citizens have. Law-abiding gun users use those guns to save 500,000 lives on the low end, according to CDC. Fucked up people will find a way to get guns and stripping the rights of sane people will not only have little to no effect on mass shootings, it will also leave people with less means of protecting their home and their country. For example, the 1996 Australian buyback had no effect on gun violence in their country.
Well maybe preventing anyone from buying a gun from a fucking Walmart might help the problem a bit, don’t you think? There’s a reason every other country on earth has lower gun violence than you.
Do the americans know that the rest of the world also has access to video games, or are they just that ignorant
Wait, you guys can buy video games from the store? When I want a game my mother and I have to go through an extensive 2 year process that will eventually clear us to buy a specific game. Wow, you Americans are crazy.
/s obviously
America loves to point fingers
Yeah, well, I'll make automod ping you whenever someone calls for mods.
That’d be an epic meme troll
Oh wow that was a while ago.
Do you know exactly when? I got the game around Christmas and id like to determine if I’m cool enough or not
Just signed up for the healthcare provided by my work. $50 deducted from each paycheck (weekly) with a $3000 deductable. I've been told "that's not all that bad." But, fuck man. I beg to differ.
When I did research on the American healthcare system and compared it to mine (I’m Canadian) I had to google what deductibles and copays were because I had no idea. You guys have to pay just to get coverage? Wtf! Such bullshit. I feel bad for you guys
We pay to get coverage that doesn't even kick in unless we spend thousands of dollars. It's such a scam it's not even funny.
Yeah and the only reason it’ll probably never change is because the people who control the government can afford it and don’t want to lose money. It’s a sad world we live in

I mean men don't usually get any punishment for groping. Also the literal president groped people a nothing happened. There are a lot of valid issues brought up on this sub but this isn't one of them.
The thing is with the president is that a) he is filthy rich and most likely pays his way out of it, and b) is the president and as you know, hasn’t been punished for the many crimes he’s committed in and out of office. I would also think men would get a whole hell of a lot longer than 5 days in prison and nothing else for groping a woman.
Dunkle Samus
I’m in favor of universal healthcare - can somebody explain what the difference between universal and “Medicare for all?” I feel like we’re going to get duped again like when we thought everybody getting health coverage was going to mean everybody gets healthcare.
I think it just requires insurance companies to give basic coverage for free. Don’t quote me on that, because I don’t know if that’s right and I’m also not American sooooo
Everyone was talking about how that sounded similar to gunshots and all I can say is that if I heard that, I’d think “Jesus that scared the shit out of me” and maybe a hint of “what a jackass” but nothing about guns. I am Canadian though so I’m not in constant fear of being shot
Does she live in Canada?
Looks like a BC licence plate to me
Did your mom/dad never take away your toys as punishment when you were a kid?
Now I'm not saying it's exactly the same, nor saying that it was good parenting, but you can see where they're coming from, yes? So, unless their mom beats them and shit, I'm not gonna say she's a bad mom.
I assume OP wasn’t having a temper tantrum. This parent decided to take away the sketchbook because they felt like it. There was absolutely no reason to take it away and that’s why OP made this post. Taking away toys Is very different. When you’re bad, the toys are taken. In this case, it’s like your parents took away your toys for no reason.
Let alone the fact that a new Paper Mario game is probably already in the works.
The chances of seeing TTYD remade in the next 5 years are close to 0.
Well lucky for me I’m playing through it properly for the first time since I borrowed my cousins copy. Amazing game I have to say
UGH FUCK OFF. you can't call this trashy withoit the backstory. She could've been crossing already and the truck honked at her. That would give her the right to flip it off. And now you make fun of her personal issues. Burn in hell
You really think she has ANY right to flip off a fucking fire truck that has its lights and sirens on? When an emergency vehicle is on the road with lights and/or sirens on, you legally NEED to pull over and stop for them. Same with pedestrians. You have to get out of the way. Read some road laws bud
What the hell do I get
Give me a plant pot I guess
What the fuck shitty carrier are you using? Last decade or so Verizon and AT&T at least have tied contacts to your phone number so it's literally impossible to "lose" contacts. Android also links contacts to your Google account so again, impossible to lose contacts. If it's Android then you caused that somehow, and if it's Apple then I'm amazed Apple doesn't save contacts to the account (I don't know how Apple shit works at all but this is all I can assume)
With Apple it’s all on your phones icloud backup. If you don’t have that then you’re pretty much SOL

Shits fucked, man. My son went to the NICU for 4 days, extra week in hospital, emergency transport between hospitals, all at no cost.
I just dont get how Americans can argue against universal healthcare.
Because the ones who actually have a say in the matter are the ones who can afford it. They also don’t know anything other than paying for healthcare and “dOnT wAnNa paY mORe tAXeS”
