When YouTube was still growing and didn't have the option to narrowly pick "advertisers-friendly content" to promote and entertain people with, much more content was considered "advertiser-friendly". Therefore, iDubbbz and the YouTubers he associated with made uncensored wild videos which became very popular and also financially feasible since they had advertisements on them. After YouTube became much more popular with many more videos and content creators, YouTube staff had the choice to only allow ads on censored, tame videos. This made advertisers more comfortable with the piece of mind that their ads would not be on a video of people making a cake out of vomit, eating said cake, them vomiting into each other's mouths, or some other such crazy content. As a result, the area of YouTube which many people found iconic to the website was over to a significant degree. Long after this event, iDubbbz, unlike many YouTubers who changed their ways, kept making content in the same vein of 2017 and pre-2017 YouTube.
