mini deals before 31 October to lessen the shock of no deal as wholly laughable. "The CBI stuff last week was desperate nonsense" said one EU source. "It is not the EU's job to mitigate Brexit's impact on UK. No deal means no deal - not mini deals". So the main residual area...

bluff called. So here is the question that will determine the fate of this nation: which of the EU on the one hand and Johnson on the other has the greater reputation for conducting reverse ferrets? And if you think neither will show flexibility, you should be bracing for...

Peston's predictions are rarely correct, so we'll probably lend up with lots of mini deals and the EU caving in under orders from Germany.
-
Oh here we go....don't tell me...the german car industry is going to come to our rescue? Cutting it a bit fine aren't they!
-
We've already agreed many bilateral agreements (mini deal) with the EU.
-
none ! there are 19 unilateral and time limited provisions made by the eu for the benefit of members. They can be extended or withdrawn at will. There is no consultation with the uk. There are no deals because, oddly, that is what "no deal" is.

This has been on the cards from the moment Jonhson was made PM. This has been the arch Brexiteers vision from the outset. The real question is why? No deal will clearly be ruinous for the UK, prices will soar as the pound plummets. When will the rioting begin?

Who benefits from Brexit?
-
The working people as the EU is in favour of big business.
-
You may be sadly disappointed. At present working people's rights are guaranteed by EU legislation. Several prominent supporters of Brexit have been talking about getting rid of "EU regulations" - code for workers ' rights.
-
Over the last decades I've always thought that whatever govt the uk has we're safe because the EU will ultimately protect us. Without the EU it's not just worker's rights it's environmental protection, food standards and so much more that our Govt won't give a fig about

Yes. Just watch after a No Deal all the firms that suddenly alter your terms of employment to “cope with current conditions. I’m not sure the warm glow of “freedom” will compensate for the loss of many rights and protections in the work place. I quite like having breaks etc...

A pessimistic view and not grounded in fact, we do have a good 2 house parliamentary system to protect works rights.
-
And where do I get my pessimistic view from? 45 years living (& 27 working) in businesses in the UK. I have seen & signed several “opt outs” of the working time directive, because it was clear that if I did not employment would terminate at the end of probation. It will happen.

The point is that most of key agreements, aviation, haulage etc. Have already been agreed by the European Parliament. There are already “mini deals” in place.

Here they are: one day the UK is sitting at the table equal. The next: under it looking for scraps telling everyone those dining above will give in due to hunger any minute.https://ec.europa.eu/info/brexit/brexit-preparedness_en …
