People see the CHP cadres do the exact same thing that they've been criticising, so the backlash is quite big. CHP MPs introduced a bill that'd ban employing first-degree relatives of mayors/officials in municipalities and subsidiaries, in response to the criticisms so far.

This is another example of the fact that most evils/bad practices we speak about in Turkey/Turkish politics are not exclusive to one clique or party - it's in the DNA of the system. The difference may be in how widespread they are within every party/clique but that's about it.

On a separate note, remembering how then-PM Davutoglu wanted to introduce a transparency bill that would require every official in civil service, provincial officials for parties & MPs to declare their assets - and how it was effectively blocked by his own party in 2015
